Simple Broiler Feed Calculator

Simple Broiler Feed Calculator

by Akinbobola A. 19 Comments

In broiler farming or production, feed and feeding are very important because they determine how well your broiler chickens will perform. One problem of some broiler chicken farmers is that they find it difficult to determine the quantity of feed required to raise broilers from day-old chicks to 6 weeks. Additionally, some farmers don’t know the cost of feeding a particular number of broilers to maturity.

These are the reasons why I came up with this simple Online Broiler Feed Calculator. You don’t need to do anything other than key in the number of broilers you intend to raise and the current prices of feed. Then click CALCULATE. Other things will be done for you automatically by the Broiler Feed Calculator.

Hello, I want to venture into broiler business but your feed calculator is not applicable to broilers that weighs 4.5 to 6kg. I live in Southern part of Nigeria. 8-9 weeks broilers weighing between 1.8 to 3kg is not marketable.
Kindly help with a broiler feed calculator to attain an average of 5kg live weight.
Thanks in anticipation of your response.

While I see this comment to be rude to me, I’ve decided not to work on it anymore. The standard duration for keeping broilers is 8 weeks. So anyone who intends to keep longer should multiply the quantity of feed consumed in the 8th week with the additional weeks he/she intends to keep the birds for.

Believing that you have forgiven me, let’s move forward.

Can l adopt feeding the broiler chicks with only starter mash and finisher mash, eliminating grower, though the cost deferential is not much, positive on the side of omitting grower mash any way ?

It’s alright sir. Actually, it’s not easy to update this site as well as write posts. No one pays me for all these and anything I do on this blog, I do them in my spare times. Since December 19 sounds somehow to me. Like I’m so lazy to do what I said I will do. Nevertheless, thanks for your comments sir. At least I’m happy someone is out there reading my posts.

    Hello Mr Akinbobola,
What are the advantages and disadvantages of omitting the Grower feed from the
    Broiler feeding program.
The omission seem to be the norm these days and many farmers have completely excluded it from their Broiler feeding program, claiming the grower feed is for pullets not broilers.

What is your comment or advise in this regard?
